Has anyone invented a time machine yet?

... so that I can go back in time to this past Saturday night, to the moment just before the moment I stood up from the sofa and knocked over a glass of red wine, creating a spray pattern across the rug and slip-covered sofa that, as TB pointed out, could only be analyzed by the likes of a Dexter. Panicked pouring of various substances with magical stain-removing properties ensued, followed by a machine-washing of aforementioned slipcover, which resulted in major shrinkage and its current state of not-fittingness. Anybody?

Yet the carpet stains, oddly, were no problem. If only Curb Your Enthusiasm had an episode about getting red wine stains outta slip covers...

Actually, the stains came out pretty well. I'd like to see an episode about whether its socially acceptable to slit the back of a slipcover ... as long as it's against the wall, and really, who's gonna see that anyway?

How about getting new slip covers?

Oh my, when you find that time machine - let us know. Reminds me of when I went to knock on the dining room window (to scare off the birds eating my dog's food) the window just exploded - glass flew everywhere. Would like to rewind that moment!!!
PS - I say - slit the slipcovers!

Irene,

I found this photo:

on your flickr site.

I was wondering if I could use it for a PowerPoint presentation - it would be the background for sermon points in a church. It will in no way be sold, given out, or anything like that. It will be used once, and never again.

My email is bukkweat@gmail.com. Please let me know if it is alright that I use it - I was hoping to use it this Sunday.

Dina: I'm going to take measurements and get an estimate. If it's very expensive (custom ones can cost almost as much as a new sofa I think), I will try slitting them first. If that doesn't work, I'll have to decide between a new sofa and slipcovers (the sofa's about 13 years old, albeit in pretty good shape).

We started watching Dexter, so now I finally get the reference.....

Sofas are used to sit or if not sleep, not to mess around with, and when you do so you will get the return.

Inform us about the time machine as well! One of our guests accidentally spilled red wine on our carpet when we had a party at our house. We tried everything we could but alas, the stain was still there. We've actually called a carpet cleaning (Hiram, GA) company to remove the stains in the carpet.
